Shoal Bay

On Waggoner's advice, Scream stopped at Shoal Bay after clearing Dent Rapids without incident (Yay!). Shoal bay was once a town, and therefore has a government dock. It now has one resident, Mark, who is both wharfinger and publican. The Shoal Bay Lodge is a cabin that serves cold beer on the deck and in the living room.

We loved Shoal Bay. Mark has attracted a group of boaters who spend a weeks on end at the Lodge working in the yard and the garden. We were welcomed to pick fresh vegetables from the garden and to use their free wifi, even though we anchored out to avoid the $0.50/foot fee on the dock. Even the dog and cat are friendly.

The views are beautiful. We intend to return.
