Savary Island
The crew greatly enjoyed our previous visit to Savary Island, when we circumnavigated Vancouver Island in our previous boat, Wai Whare. Then, the island's anchorage was full of visiting boats and the beach was covered with sun bathers and beach combers.
This trip, however, we were a couple of months earlier in the season and there wasn't a soul to be found in the anchorage. We lucked out, and had light southerly winds, so decided to stay for the night. The lack of other people had nothing to do with the beauty of the place - we spent a marvelous evening on the hook.
On the previous trip, I had gone for a (very brief) swim, and this time it was Steven's turn. He had the benefit of a wetsuit, though.
