Herring Bay
The crew of Scream took a well deserved day off in lovely Herring Bay. Just south of Ruxton Island, Herring Bay is only really a bay at low water, as the southern islands all but disappear with the tide.
We spent the day sailing Gone Fission, sightseeing on the beaches (when they were there) and relaxing in the hammocks. The sunset was particularly lovely from our anchorage.
The next day we did a little more exploring before heading off to make slack water at Dodd Narrows. We passed a few awkward moments as a log booming operation had taken over the pass at the appropriate time, but they moved through quickly and we made it through without incident, arriving in Nanaimo Harbour in mid-afternoon.
