A visitor and a diesel

A few weeks ago, our friend Marc visited us from Vancouver. Now a librarian, Marc once apprenticed as an electrician, and we hoped we could press-gang him into service. As it turned out, he was a great crew member, and we’d be happy to kidnap him have him back any time.
We poked at the electrics, found and hoisted the drifter (it has a sock!), and hoisted Steven up the mast. The only problem was when the diesel engine died as we were leaving the dock, and the neighbours had to rescue us. We never did get to take Marc for a sail, so we have every excuse to get him to come back.
