Santa Cruz and Monterey
We spent a couple of days in each of Santa Cruz and Monterey on Monterey Bay. We were good tourists, and spent an afternoon at the beachfront amusement part in Santa Cruz, riding rollercoasters and playing arcade games. It was more fun than I would have thought, and a good antidote to boat, boat, boat.

Halfmoon Bay
Scream sailed (yes, sailed) out of San Francisco bay and south to Half Moon Bay. We didn’t go ashore, but I can say that the Bay has a large, well-sheltered area inside the breakwater where we anchored in 15 feet. We spent our first night at anchor in calm water since Crescent City.

San Francisco
We’re having a great time in San Francisco. After a month of small towns with few sailboats and fewer cruisers, San Francisco was a bit of a shock. Waiting for Weather – Crescent City and Fort Bragg
As anticipated, we’ve had to wait in port for weather to clear up a few times so far. The longest of these have been in Crescent City and Fort Bragg.

Cape Mendocino
We are now docked in the Noyo River near Fort Bragg. We rounded the notorious Cape Mendocino en route and it was an experience indeed.

South to California
We sailed overnight from Coos Bay, Oregon to Crescent City, California. We left Coos Bay at the morning low water slack, motored more or less until dark, sailed through the darkness, and motored here arriving at high tide.
